Anna Hazare broadside came to the Congress leaders who had called an RSS spokesman for his charge against Rahul Gandhi on the issue Lokpal.
One of the leaders warned that partymen not tolerate such accusations politically motivated. "Rahul Gandhi is not even in the government and is the secretary general of the party. Hazare is the attacker to weaken the bill to help Lokpal interests tarnish its image. Congress will not tolerate this," Congressman Parliament PV Hanumantha Rao told reporters in New Delhi.
Beni Prasad Verma steel minister said, "the opposition is afraid of Rahul Gandhi and Anna became their spokesperson in particular that of the RSS. Is it a Laat Sahab, let him come to UP (elections), we shall see there. " He was reacting to comments by Anna Hazare on the secretary general of the congress.
"Anna is trying to scare Congress, but we are not afraid of him. If he is 75, then the Congress is 125 years, "said Verma. Asked about his reaction on the issue, Congress leader Satyavrata Chaturvedi said: "His (Anna) is not the word of Brahma. Is Satyawadi Harishchandra?, I do agree with that. "
The Congress leader was asked about his views on the statement of Rahul Gandhi on Anna.
Launching attack on Anna Hazare and his team for criticizing the Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, Digvijaya Singh also said that Anna Hazare followed the game plan of the BJP and the Sangh Parivar.
"The BJP supports Anna Hazare to divert public attention from the fact that Sangh Parivar supporters were arrested for terrorist activities," said Digvijaya while talking to reporters in New Delhi.
Digvijaya also said that Anna was targeting Rahul Gandhi, who was the first to call for Lokpal to give constitutional status. Campaign Team Anna is not apolitical - it has always been political.
"The intention of the team of Anna, Ramdev and Sri Sri Ravishankar is political motivation is to create problems for Congress," said Digvijaya yet.
Accusing the opposition of "double standards", Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni Monday asked why he was raising the issue outside Lokpal while Parliament is in session.
"In a democracy, it is a platform for discussion on each issue. Parliament is the best forum for discussion."
"Raising questions outside Parliament shows double standards opposition. It is not acceptable, "she said, adding" when talking outside Parliament, they say that it is against parliamentary tradition. "
Soni said, "we also want Lokpal strong but it should be discussed in Parliament."
At the same time, the law minister Salman Khurshid said: "Parliamentary democracy is based on the discussion and there should be discussion on each issue."
Asked if the opposition is the right thing to discuss the issue Lokpal outside Parliament, Khurshid said "it should also be discussed in Parliament."
UPA allies have also supported the Congress whiile opposition parties have all criticized the government for trying to introduce a bill to the lowest Lokpal.
Union Minister Farooq Abdullah said: "Parliament is sovereign. So they (the opposition) should state their position in Parliament is the proper forum ".
However, the NCP chief Sharad Pawar said today that there was nothing wrong with sharing the stage with Anna Hazare and politicians to discuss the issue and said he Lokpal is "good" that all parties stressed the supremacy of Parliament can not be neglected.
"A debate can take place anywhere. This could be done at a seminar or in an open field. It is good that all political parties to Jantar Mantar stressed the importance of Parliament. We can not overlook the Parliament, "said Pawar.
On Sunday, the Congress spokesman Rashid Alvi said that whatever happens to Jantar Mantar was premature and should have waited until the final form of the bill Lokpal to be adopted by Parliament.
"Laws can not be made at Jantar Mantar. I have no hesitation in saying that Parliament is Annaji insulting, "Alvi said, adding that the activist had his say and must now allow Parliament to fulfill its mandate.
He accused Hazare to engage in politics by attacking the Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and party general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
"This is a constitutional right to Annaji to sit on the protest, but the way he tries to target and Rahulji Soniaji clear he does not want to engage in politics," he said.
His remarks came shortly after several political parties including the BJP, left parties, BJD Dias Hazare and shared with key proposals supported the team of Anna for a strong Lokpal.
"It was a gathering of anti-Congress of Industrial Organizations. Nothing happened beyond our expectations, "said Alvi.
He argued that there were inherent contradictions in the statement Hazare when he exhorts all institutions to work independently and at the same time, waiting for the government to influence Congress or the Standing Committee to accept the version of the militant of Lokpal.
"On one hand Hazare said all institutions should work independently - CVC, CBI, Lokpal - on the other, he expects the government or Congress to pressure the Standing Committee to adopt Lokpal Annaji," said Alvi.
He said Hazare should not have lowered the dignity of the Parliamentary Standing Committee in the criticism.
"Parliament will debate and decide on the bill Lokpal. Nobody is bigger than Parliament or the Constitution. The country operates under the Constitution, not by raising slogans, "he said.
Alvi said that Congress will continue to fight against corruption at all levels.
